About Your Role
We are looking for an experienced accountant to join our team in nonprofit division.
You will have a pool of nonprofit clients assigned directly to you. You will responsible for the month end closing, reporting, communictions with the clients, and presenting reports to management and the boards. You'll be reporting directly to the Nonprofit Accounting Manager. You'll have a chance to build long-lasting friendships with our team and the people we serve and positively impact their daily lives.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

Oversee, communicate & be responsible for a group of our clients to ensure that they are well-serviced from A-Z and that they are heard, well taken care of their needs, and are highly satisfied with our services

Perform periodic month/quarter/year-end closing, post adjusting journal entries, prepare reconciliations, maintain supporting documents files

Prepare & present financial statements to CEOs, Finance Committees, and Board of Directors as needed for each client.

Assist in onboarding new clients by helping to clean up messy books and implement new tech tools and processes

Review the day-to-day work performed by our bookkeepers or the client's bookkeeper to ensure that everything is on track

Be accountable for the quality and timeliness of all tasks related to a group of clients assigned to you.

Provide our virtual CFO services, such as budgeting, cash flow projections, KPI reports, consolidations and other miscellaneous management reports that our clients may require

Prepare the files for the auditors and facilitate the financial statement audits from start to end (you are a gatekeeper to make sure the audit is done smoothly and timely)

As a small firm, there might be times when you would need to take on some bookkeeping tasks as we are building capacity for new positions.

Be part of the cross-training with other team members.

Occasional evening/weekend attendance at client meetings and events may be requested

Attend team meetings and meetings with team members or external contacts, as required.
- Be an integral part of internal SOPS development (create, update, and refine as needed).

What You Need to Succeed

Education and Work Experience
-
You have at least two years of work experience as an accountant/controller or full-charge bookkeeper. A CPA license or experience working for a CPA firm is a plus.

You are knowledgeable and experienced in grant tracking and reporting in the non-profit sector. If you have no non-profit sector experience, you'll need a strong desire to learn the unique things about non-profits. Training is available.

Have strong knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

You have experience putting together financial statements, budgets, cash-flow projections, and various financial reports to assist management in making decisions

You have experience in closing the books at year-end, preparing for annual audits, and working with auditors and tax preparers.

You have experience managing a team is a plus.

You have a high level of comfort in QuickBooks desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Excel and are a quick learner of new tech tools

You have an aptitude with technology and are open to implementing new tools

$65,000 - 80,000 DOE
